Program Description
The Home
Buyer Education program is offered to individuals interested in
purchasing a home.
Home Buyer Education covers
such topics as:

Do
you really want to be a home owner
-
What
to expect when applying for a mortgage loan
-
Services offered by a realtor and costs
-
How
to pre-qualify for a loan
-
Budgeting, spending plans, and saving for home ownership
-
Inspecting the home and making an offer to purchase
-
Down
payment and closing costs
-
Credit scores and fixing credit problems
-
Good
neighbor, maintaining your home and yard
-
Avoiding foreclosure
-
Etc...
The
class takes approximately 8 hours and is offered on a full day week
day or Saturday or an evening class format. At the conclusion of the
class participants receive a certificate of completion. This
certificate and class is required if you are seeking down payment
assistance and for several commercial loan products that have
reduced down payment obligations.
Eligibility
This
program is offered by Northeast Oklahoma Community Action at no cost
and anyone can come and participate in the class from young people
planning for home ownership, to the elderly, disabled and low income
individuals. Staff is available to assist with filling out loan
applications, teaching spending plans (budgeting), and helping you
fix your credit issues.

in your home purchase, there are eligibility requirements which must
